So, you think your family is crazy? Oy vey…or should we say, mamma mia!

Start the festive season on a side-splitting note with the return, after nearly a decade, of the New York comedy classic, My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish, and I’m in Therapy! by Steve Solomon. The new production opens with a preview on the 3rd December and runs till the 21st December at the Auto & General Theatre.
It again stars the brilliant, multi award-winning and popular S.A. actor,
MICHAEL RICHARD (who is neither Italian, Jewish… or in therapy!)

Created onstage in the Big Apple by writer/comedian Steve Solomon, this uproariously funny one-man play tells the story of an Italian-Jewish family and the characters that inhabit their world. Conjuring up an array of wacky family relationships, our hapless hero is driven straight into the therapist’s chair, as he navigates through a tricky minefield of voices, dialects and sound effects.

My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish, and I’m in Therapy! won the audience award for Favorite New Off-Broadway Play, and has earned rave reviews worldwide. You need not be Jewish nor Italian to appreciate this off-the-wall timeless comedy – you just need to know what it feels like to leave a family dinner with heartburn and a headache! Described as “one-part lasagne, one-part kreplach and two parts prozac”, this delicious comedy promises to be just the tonic to relieve the stress of 2019 and to kickstart the holiday season.

Tickets are a lot cheaper than a visit to the shrink! Bookings can be made through Computicket (tel. 0861 915 8000) or by calling the theatre on 011 883-8606.
