This August as part of the For Once programme, The Centre for the Less Good Idea presents a new work by Pretoria-based dancer, choreographer, and performing artist Thabo Rapoo.

With adjusted levels of lockdown, the Centre for the Less Good Idea is thrilled to reignite its live performance programme this August with a FOR ONCE performance by Thabo Rapoo. The FOR ONCE performance comes ahead of two highly anticipated Seasons at the Centre: Season 7 and Season 8, happening in September and October respectively.

Writer, choreographer and performer, Thabo Rapoo in collaboration with a stellar host of creatives, presents a new solo exploration on the 27th of August 2021 with Thupa Kobong – The Repress of ‘Nothing’. In this performance,Thabo Rapoo imbues the spirit of Motsamai, a homeless man who is triggered by the realization that he will only amount to nothing in his lifetime. He searches the proverbs of his culture, he digs into his religion’s texts and he pursues the law books, all of which whistles him away. Nothing! No Thing echoes his every step.
